Korean Kim Chee Recipe
Aloha!  Delicious Korean Kim Chee Recipe - Easy Recipes from Busy Bees Hawaii.  ENJOY!
Ingredients
1-1/2 to 2 lbs. Won Bok Cabbage

(4) cups water

(1/2) cup salt

(1) Tbsp. red chili pepper, chopped fine

1 Tbsp. Sugar

(1/2) tsp. salt

(1) tsp. garlic, finely chopped

(1/2) tsp. ginger, finely chopped, fresh or dried

(1/4) medium-sized onion, sliced thin

 

Instructions

Wash won bok and cut into 1/2 inch lengths.  Add 1/2 cup salt to the 4 cups water.  Soak won bok in this for 4 hours.  Rinse won bok in clear water and drain.

Add other ingredients to won bok and mix well.  Press into a jar, cover and keep in a cool place for 2 or 3 days to ripen.

 

Yields

1 quart
 

Note

Length of time:  Soak 4 hours;  2-3 days to ripen.
